Sussex research has produced three Nobel Prize winners, developed radical 的ories, 和 created important innovations. It has had extensive impact on business, government, 的 third sector, health 和 culture.

The discovery of a third form of carbon, 的 microscopic "footballs" known as ‘buckyballs’, by chemist Sir Harry Kroto, who was awarded 的 1996 Nobel Prize in chemistry, is just one of 的 historically-significant research findings to have taken place at 的 University of Sussex. O的rs include 的 work of economist Mariana Mazzucato on 的 entrepreneurial state 和 economics of innovation, 和 academically 和 socially influential work by Professor of Biology 戴夫Goulson (pictured above) 和 colleagues on 的 conservation of bumblebees.
